Are you interested in helping the environment and conserving water?! Have you ever considered recycling rain water? The collection of rain water has been a practice used for thousands of years. It is a way to conserve water, save money and help landscapes and gardens without waste. The concept is simple, a barrel would be attached to the gutter system. When it rains, instead of the water washing away into the street and ditches, it would be collected into the barrel for future use. If this seems like something you would be interested in but don’t know where to begin, The City of Clarksville and Montgomery County will be sponsoring a Rain Barrel Workshop! The workshop will be held from 1o am – 11 am on June 17, at Clarksville Gas and Water Department (2215 Madison St). There is a fee of $40 per barrel, which will include all necessary materials (cash or check will be accepted the day of the workshop). Please contact Ashlie Farmer (on or before June 14) to reserve your barrel ([email protected] clarksville.com).
